Because of the very nature of working with a variety of personality types, some interactions between individuals can be very difficult to handle. Engaging in such situations, possibly already primed for a confrontation, can only serve to heighten tensions and make the situation worse. This workshop will introduce participants to the Behavioral Adjustment Technique (BAT) program of communication skills. Dr. Battisti will explain and then offer examples so participants can practice being direct and diplomatic. Maintaining a confident, positive demeanor is essential to having difficult conversations and focusing on a healthy outcome.

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is an organizational development process of exploration based on the power of positive inquiry. The focus of AI involves creating a collaborative environment of discovery into what makes an organization most effective. Based on positive psychology principles, rather than spotlighting breakdowns and malfunctions, AI asks questions that ignite the positive energy within the organization. Join Dr. Francis Battisti as he offers an overview of the principles and processes of AI and how they can be used within each of our organizations to create an organizational culture of creativity and reflective thought, enhancing the quality of care delivery. A Plan of Action will be initiated during the presentation to begin the process of incorporating AI practices.
