Accompanying elder religious in the later years of their spiritual journey relies on the energy of thanksgiving, of gratitude for what has been, of gratitude for what can be let go, celebrated and forgiven, and deep thanks for the life that still fills our days.

Sisters of the Divine Compassion
Sr. Alice Feeley, RDC is a native of Brooklyn and a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, founded in the late 19th century. She has served as an educator at the primary, secondary, and college levels and as Formation Director, President, and Leadership Team member for her community. As director of Pace University’s CLOUT program, Sr. Alice assisted young women raising children on public assistance to develop the skills necessary for successful employment. She has also served as a pastoral counselor, spiritual director, and nursing home chaplain at Cabrini of Westchester. She holds graduate degrees in English Literature and Pastoral Counseling as well as certifications in spiritual direction and giving directed retreats.
Sr. Alice has been a spiritual director for over 20 years, occasionally leading retreats as well. Her poetry has appeared in periodicals such as A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley. Three of her poetry collections have been published: Tracing Thin Places, How Will We Find Our Way Home, and Cloud Crossings.
She lives in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Philip McCallion, PhD, is professor and director of the School of Social Work within the College of Public Health at Temple University. His research advances evidence-based interventions in health promotion, falls reduction, caregiver support, dementia management and service system redesign. McCallion is co-founder/co-principal investigator/co-applicant of the Intellectual Disability Supplement to the Irish Longitudinal Study on Aging, and co-investigator on longitudinal studies of dementia in persons with Down syndrome.
McCallion is visiting/adjunct professor at Trinity College Dublin, a John A. Hartford Foundation Social Work Faculty Scholar and Mentor, and a fellow of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and of the Gerontological Society of America. Serving on international consensus panels and the board of the National Task Group on Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia, McCallion is the national consultant on intellectual disabilities and dementia for the U.S. National Alzheimer's and Dementia Resource Center.

Brian Ellsworth, MA
Vice President, Public Policy and Payment Transformation, Health Dimensions Group
Brian Ellsworth has more than 30 years of experience in health care financing, delivery, and policy from both payor and provider perspectives. He has worked at Optum (UnitedHealth Group) and as a policymaker in New York’s Medicaid program. His extensive provider experience includes positions at the American Hospital Association (AHA) and senior leadership roles at statewide associations of home health, hospice, and long-term care providers. At HDG, Mr. Ellsworth leads efforts to develop value-based payment approaches for skilled nursing facilities and home- and community-based providers, including the development of continuing care networks and analysis of bundled payment opportunities.
His expertise includes the following: development of cutting-edge episodic and value-based payment systems; managed care strategy development for providers and payors seeking to bring value to the health care delivery system; development of regulatory streamlining and cost-saving proposals through leveraging technology and programmatic change; and analysis of legislative and regulatory proposals affecting all post-acute sectors and dual eligible managed care plans.
At Optum, Mr. Ellsworth led efforts to develop a mobile technology solution to improve quality and program integrity for home care and medical transportation providers. His experience also includes federal and state demonstrations on home health pay for performance, Medicare capitation for the chronically ill, and dual eligible integration. At AHA, Mr. Ellsworth analyzed the impact of payment and quality monitoring policies for SNFs, hospital swing beds, IRFs, LTACHs, home health, and inpatient psychiatric facilities. Throughout his career, Mr. Ellsworth’s thought leadership has resulted in a number of important refinements to post-acute, long-term care, and inpatient payment and quality monitoring systems for both Medicare and Medicaid. As a policymaker in New York, he led early efforts to develop managed long-term care plans for the dually eligible. He has served on federal and state technical advisory panels on a wide range of topics, such as long-term care financing reform, episodic reimbursement, and development of process and outcome measures for home health.

Kathleen A. Curran is Senior Director of Public Policy at the Catholic Health Association of the United States. Ms. Curran coordinates the development of public policy positions for the Association and works with other CHA staff to communicate CHA's public policy positions to Congress, the executive branch, the membership and other outside organizations. Ms. Curran has previously held positions at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

Dave served as the President of the legacy firm, RPA, prior to the company being acquired by Jensen Hughes in 2017. Dave is a past Chairman of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Health Care Section Executive Board and currently serves as the Chair of the NFPA Health Care Section Education Committee. Dave is also a former principal member on the Life Safety Code® Technical Committee on Health Care Occupancies.
Dave commonly presents at various conferences and forums, including but not limited to, the National Fire Protection Association’s World Safety Conference (NFPA), the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC), the annual American Society for Healthcare Engineering Conference (ASHE), and the annual American Health Care Association (AHCA) Conference . He provides specialized consulting to both the American Health Care Association and LeadingAge. Dave also has fire service experience in Prince George’s County, MD and Monroe County, NY. He is the past Chief of the Honeoye Falls Fire Department located in suburban Rochester, NY.
