  • Includes a Live Web Event on 11/12/2024 at 1:00 PM (EST)

This webinar is experience-based and will identify common features of the spiritual life as well as common concerns of elder religious. Changes that impact each one’s spiritual journey – e.g., changes in faith, in one’s images of God and relationships, changes in prayer, and changes in one’s cognitive, emotional and physical capacities – will be explored. We will also examine the identity question that reveals vulnerability: “Who am I now that I no longer… (fill in the blank)." *This webinar is cosponsored by The National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO).

Accompanying elder religious in the later years of their spiritual journey relies on the energy of thanksgiving, of gratitude for what has been, of gratitude for what can be let go, celebrated and forgiven, and deep thanks for the life that still fills our days.

Through spiritual direction or accompaniment, we can engage in a sacred conversation and learn to speak authentically, to listen without defensiveness, and to proceed on the later part of our pilgrimage with trust, confidence, and a smile on our faces.
