First Webinar: Developing a Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Program

This program will provide details on developing a comprehensive emergency preparedness program that will address all four phases of emergency management; regulatory requirements and recent findings; significant and illustrative case studies; and incident command/management/coordination.

To earn a continuing education credit hour, you must be present for this two-hour webinar in its entirety.

Learning Outcome:

Following this presentation, participants will be able to: List the steps to develop an emergency preparedness program and the fundamental requirements for training and testing of the program. 

Continuing Education

Registrants seeking continuing education will be asked to watch the webinar in full, record and submit verification codes, and submit an evaluation form. 

Nursing Home Administrators: This program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for Continuing Education for 2.0 total participation hours from NAB/NCERS.

Catholic Chaplains: This educational program has been submitted to the National Association of Catholic Chaplains for approval to grant Continuing Education Hours.

Dietitians (Registered): This educational program has been submitted to the Commission on Dietetic  Registration for approval to award Continuing Professional Education Units.

Nurses: This nursing continuing professional development activity was submitted to the  Northeast Multistate Division Education Unit, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

New York State Social Workers: Avila Institute of Gerontology, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education  Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0265. Participants can earn 10.0 Contact Hours.

Prior to joining Jensen Hughes, Paul previously managed safety and security in a large acute care health system and has served as a security consultant to Fortune 500 companies in the US and abroad.  

Paul has extensive background with the fire services, acting in the capacity of Fire Chief and Company Officer in Ontario County and Monroe County, NY. His fire service certification involved conducting fire investigations at the local and county level, as well as for the insurance industry.  

He has had specialized training in Foreign & Domestic Terrorism; Conflict Management & Crisis Intervention; Incident Command Systems; and Department of Defense Emergency Responder Training for Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Responder Operations. 

Paul continues to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter and as member of the board of directors.
