Providing Supportive Feedback
Recorded On: 03/16/2023
- Registration Closed
Summary:
Feedback is a term that is frequently used, but often misunderstood. Many times, feedback is presented as an opinion on someone else’s ideas, or their performance coupled with suggestions for improvement. However, recent research suggests that this approach to offering feedback not only fails to significantly improve performance, but also hinders development. This session will present the case for why health care professionals and those serving long-term care homes should utilize feedback communication strategies that are positive, motivating, and outcome-driven, backed by the guiding question of “How can we help each person thrive and excel?”
As a result of this presentation the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize the positive impact of providing supportive feedback to staff, coworkers, and others.
2. Utilize at least two supportive approaches to offering feedback.
