Includes a Live Web Event on 05/07/2024 at 1:00 PM (EDT)

How can Catholic religious communities support their members as they prepare for death? In this webinar, we will explore current trends and options in end-of-life care with consideration of how they align with our Catholic teachings. We will discuss topics such as the benefits of advanced care planning with a focus on personal values. Considerations of what constitutes ordinary vs. extraordinary means to preserve life will be explored, along with understanding artificial nutrition and hydration and its place in end-of-life care. Part of this session will include the benefits of palliative care services. Lastly, practical options for making one’s wishes known will be an integral part of our time together.

Presented by Susan I. Belanger, PhD, MA, RN, NEA-BC.
