This ready-to-teach in-service kit includes all the pieces needed to teach a 25-minute in-service.

In this in-service we will explore why and how residents, particularly those who have difficulty communicating their needs, have behaviors using the ABC model of behavior analysis. Using the model, we will see how you can separate any behavior into three stages, to analyze the behavior and discuss with others multiple ways to reduce or modify the behavior. Lastly, you will see how you can collect data to support your decisions and then discuss some common examples showing how the system works and allows any care staff to become a behavior detective.
